BECOME
BECOME is a small pilot built with Newcastle Aikido. It's a six-week induction and pastoral-care program for new members. It came first, as a separate piece of work, to learn what new people need in their first weeks.
The club already owned the craft: the teaching, the community and the care for people starting out. The gap was not the training. Joining and billing ran through an off-the-shelf gym system and a till terminal, which handled payments but did nothing to help staff look after someone in their first six weeks. BECOME gives staff a simple way to look after new members.
What it does
- Onboarding with staff. A staff member sits down with the new member on an iPad and records their why, their goals and a mat check.
- A shared journal. Post-class check-ins are shared with staff by default, and the member controls a privacy switch.
- Week by week. Content unlocks as the six weeks go on, so nobody gets everything on day one.
- A staff list. Staff can see who needs a first class, a membership talk, a next step or a check-in.
BECOME is in use with members at the club now.
How it was built
I'm the founder, product owner and builder, building with Pairti's AI agents.
What comes next
The plan is to fold BECOME into the club's new membership platform. The first stage of that platform, covering the invite link, profile, signing, online payment and a staff view of who has signed and paid, is now live.
